You're reading: Opposition claims that the Cabinet has no 2014 budget

The Azarov government does not have an original 2014 budget; there are only changes to the 2013 budget, says Oleh Medunytsa, an opposition lawmaker and member of the Verkhovna Rada budget committee. Medunytsa posted comments regarding the budget on his Facebook page.

“The information that the government approved a new budget is fake.
There is no budget for 2014. IT DOES NOT EXIST! Our sources in the
Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Ministry of Finance confirm that
there is no budget,” he wrote.

“It is not in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, nor in the
Ministry of Finance, nor in the President’s Administration, nor in
Verkhovna Rada, nor in the Budget Committee. It is nowhere and no one is
doing anything about it.”

“Everyone is busy changing the 2013 budget. The main issue for Azarov
is to legally accept the Russian funds as quickly as possible and fill
the gaps in his party faction until the New Year, as well as cover the
debts to state employees and pay social benefits,” Medunytsa added.
