The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine and representatives of the signatories of the Geneva agreements have visited the Kyiv City State Administration building to familiarize themselves with the pace of repairs to the building. "We are grateful to you for having shown us what has been done and restored... We understand that people have done great work, and many premises are open for more or less normal work," Ertugrul Apakan, the head of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine, said after a visit to the administration.

He also noted the historic significance of this building as a “symbol of confrontation.”

“Kyiv City Administration is a building where people can communicate, and it is open to members of the community,” he said.

Ukrainian Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Deschytsia said that a working meeting was held in the administration’s building in the format of the signatories of the Geneva Statement. In particular, the working group included representatives of the embassies of the United States, EU, Russia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the OSCE monitoring mission.

“Thanks to the head of Kyiv City State Administration, we were able to see how Ukraine adheres to its commitments under the Geneva Statement, in particular the vacating of the administration’s premises. I do not see people have occupied this building, on the contrary: they’re preparing these premises for the new Kyiv authorities after elections,” Deschytsia said.
