The deputy head of the political council of the Our Ukraine Party, MP Andriy Parubiy, has appealed to Prosecutor General Viktor Pshonka to ban the holding of a Russian march in Ukraine to mark the Russian Unity Day on November 4-5, the party's press service has reported.

Parubiy said that it was unacceptable to hold the event due to the fact that Russian extremist organizations, whose activity in Russia has been banned by the courts, are involved in organizing the event in Ukraine. In addition, he said that "there will be a threat to the stability of the political situation in some regions in Ukraine because of possible provocations on national grounds."

Russian national patriots have celebrated National Unity Day, during which the Russian march is held, on November 4, since 2005. In 2010, Russian marches took place in 46 cities – 38 in Russia, seven in Ukraine, and one in Moldova.
