Kyiv, July 22 (Interfax-Ukraine) - The Our Ukraine party welcomes and supports the decision taken by the incumbent President Viktor Yuschenko to run for the second term during the presidential election on January 17, 2010.
“We see no other way and no other candidate for the
head of state and claim that we’ll do our best so that Viktor Yuschenko
could win the presidential election in January 2010,” reads a statement
by Our Ukraine’s presidium on Wednesday.
According to the party, Ukraine now needs a national
leader and statesman who has “a complete political vision and offers
the country the bitter truth, rather than sweet promises and cheap
political bribes prior to the election.”
“Only such truth is able to cure the domestic
economy and finance, save the Ukrainian humanitarian sector,” the
party’s press service emphasized.
“Our Ukraine claims that in any office and under any
conditions Yuschenko used not words but deeds to prove his patriotism
and professionalism,” reads the statement.
As was reported, Yuschenko on July 18, 2009,
officially announced his decision to run for the second term in office
during the January 17, 2010 election.
