Kyiv, Dec. 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Ukraine's parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, has supported a resolution dismissing Our Ukraine-People's Self-Defense Bloc faction member Svyatoslav Vakarchuk.
A total of 245 MPs out of the 443 registered in the parliament’s session hall backed the decision.
The MPs also dismissed Communist Party faction member Mykola Tymoshenko, with 375 out of the 443 MPs backing a corresponding resolution.
Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Lytvyn said that Tymoshenko and Vakarchuk signed their statements of resignation on October 1 and September 16, 2008, respectively.
The speaker also asked the parliament’s secretariat to provide the necessary documents to the Central Election Commission for registration of those candidates for MPs who are the next in the election lists of respective political forces.
