The Party of Regions faction has expressed hope that the issue of increasing social standards would be successfully settled at a parliament session scheduled for September 8, the party's leader, Viktor Yanukovych, has said.
“On September 4 we registered a draft law on
increasing pensions, social payments to orphans and families with many
children and will initiate its adoption on September 8,” he said in an
interview with the press in Donetsk on Saturday.
He said that the settling of the issue would allow from September 1 to implement top-priority tasks.
Yanukovych said that the faction is ready to give
several days to the parliament to elaborate the issue of the increase
of minimum wage.
He also said that his faction plans to demand a
report on the fulfillment of the national budget for 2009 from the
government and the approval of amendments to the national budget,
taking into account the rise in social standards.
