Officers of the Dnipropetrovsk regional office of the Ministry of Interior Affairs have opened a criminal case on fact of arson of a slot machine hall in Dnipropetrovsk.
A representative of the regional office of the Ministry of Interior Affairs told this to Ukrainian News. “The expert examination has not been finished yet, the investigation continues,” he said. According to the representative, this week [June 8 through June 12] a criminal case has been instituted under part 2 of article 194 of the Criminal Code (deliberate destruction or damage to property through arson). As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the owner of the chain of slot machine halls “Metro-Jackpot” – the Poryv Company registered in Kyiv, which owns the slot machine hall burnt in Dnipropetrovsk in the night of May 7 – has said the reason for the fire was highly flammable chemical substance brought into the slot machine hall. The Dnipropetrovsk regional state administration on May 9 cancelled Poryv’s license for operating the Metro Jackpot gambling chain in Dnipropetrovsk region. Nine people died and 11 were hospitalized in the early hours of May 7 as a result of a fire in the slot machine hall in Dnipropetrovsk. |
