President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has met with German Federal President Joachim Gauck in Berlin, Ukraine's ambassador in Germany Andrij Melnyk has said.
“President Poroshenko thanked Federal President Joachim Gauck for the clear demonstration of support of Ukraine’s sovereignty,” Melnyk wrote on Twitter on Aug. 25.
Melnyk said that both leaders discussed the extension of Ukrainian studies at German universities.
“President Poroshenko hopes for German support of the Ukrainian Studies not just in Greifswald, but at other universities as well,” Melnyk said.
