Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has greeted Christine Lagarde with the nomination as Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund for a second five-year term.
“Let me greet IMF Managing Director Lagarde with her nomination for a second term,” Poroshenko wrote on Twitter.
Lagarde was the only nominee for the job on Feb. 11. She still faces a formal job interview with the IMF’s board, following which she can officially start her second term after her first term expires on July 5.
