Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in his statement on occasion of the Day of Journalist has promised to protect freedom of speech in Ukraine in all its manifestations.
“Freedom of speech is one of the greatest achievements of Ukraine after the Revolution of Dignity and is the cornerstone of democracy. I have always defended and will defend freedom of expression in all its manifestations,” Poroshenko wrote on his Facebook page on June 6.
Ukraine’s Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman also congratulated journalists on their professional holiday.
“Always stand on guard of the truth. Let life constantly give you interesting stories,” the prime minister wished journalists.
