President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has said he hopes that appropriate agencies will promptly settle the incident related to journalist and TV host Savik Shuster.

“Freedom of speech is one of the biggest achievements of Ukraine after Revolution of Dignity and is a fundamental stone of democracy. As a guarantor of the Constitution, I defended and will defend freedom of speech in any of its manifestations. That’s why I hope that the appropriate agencies will settle the incident with journalist Savik Shuster as soon as possible,” Poroshenko wrote in Facebook on .

As Ukraine’s State Employment Service earlier reported, permission for TV host Savik Shuster to work in Ukraine has been cancelled because the documents submitted by his employer contained dubious information.

For his part, Shuster named taking of such decision on the eve of the holidays as purposeful.
