Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has written a letter to Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk suggesting the urgent creation of a working group for a comprehensive analysis of the issue of the termination of cargo transport communication with Crimea.
“Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has written a letter to Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk in which he suggested the urgent creation of a working group for a comprehensive analysis of the issue of termination of cargo transport communication and termination of commodity turnover with the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (in both directions) and the preparation of a draft version of the relevant decision,” the presidential press service reported on Monday.
In his letter, Poroshenko calls for a temporary suspension of cargo motor and rail communication with Crimea until the government makes a final decision on this matter.
The Ukrainian president reiterates that determining the model of further relations with Crimea is currently a priority of the public administration.
“The conflict between public activists and the occupation administration of Crimea has recently aggravated. Several criminal cases have been opened against the initiators of the trade blockade of Crimea. The initiators of the unlimited action to block the supply of Ukrainian goods to the Crimean Peninsula, which began on Sept. 20, demand full halt of trade relations with the occupied territory,” Poroshenko said, while presenting his arguments for the need to halt cargo transport communication with Crimea.
