You're reading: Poroshenko to pay visit to Astana in fall

The Kazakh-Ukrainian interstate committee discussed in Kyiv the state and prospects of cooperation between the two countries in the framework of preparing the visit of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to Kazakhstan this fall.

Meeting participants noted unanimously the necessity of deepening further partnership in agriculture, the energy sector, logistics, production, tourism and culture, the press office of Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Masimov said in a statement on July 16.

Kazakh First Deputy Prime Minister Bakytjan Sagintayev said he invited Ukraine to participate in the EXPO-2017 international specialized exhibition, which will be held in Astana. It is hoped that Ukraine will be represented at this exhibition not just by tourists but will become a comprehensive participant, he said.

At the current stage of Kazakh-Ukrainian relations the official visit of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev to Ukraine on Dec. 22, 2014 has become a most important event – a number of principle agreements on developing bilateral cooperation were reached. In particular, the parties agreed to enhance the work of the Kazakh-Ukrainian interstate committee, the statement said.
