Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has set a task to complete all the procedures on the appointment of a special anti-corruption prosecutor by the end of November and get this prosecutor on Dec. 1, 2015.

“We must ensure efficient work of the competition commission. I think we can complete all the procedures by the end of November and get a special anti-corruption prosecutor on Dec. 1,” he said at a meeting of the National Reforms Council on Monday in Kyiv, the press service of the head of state reported.

Poroshenko said that new anti-corruption institutions would start working soon: National Anti-Corruption Bureau, Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office and National Agency for Prevention of Corruption. It is a recommendation of the European Commission for the introduction of visa-free regime for Ukrainian citizens.

According to the head of state, Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office is a key element of struggle against corruption in Ukraine. It must be formed transparently and enjoy public trust.

“It means that on Dec. 1, all anti-corruption cases in the proceedings by the Prosecutor General’s Office will be transferred to the transparently created structure that will have an opportunity to carry out unbiased investigation,” the president said.

Poroshenko expects strict adherence to the schedule of the competition and categorically rejects proposals on any “improvement, strengthening and postponement” of the process.
