Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, as part of his working visit to Germany, has visited Berlin military hospital where Ukrainian military personnel are being treated.

“I am proud of such heroes like you. We pray for you. I see you have a strong morale,” Poroshenko said.

He told the soldiers about the March of Independence which took place on Kyiv’s Khreschatyk Street on Monday morning, and congratulated them with Independence Day.

Poroshenko also spoke about the recent negotiations with German Chancellor Merkel and French President Hollande which were focused on de-escalating the crisis in Donbas.

“Our glorious warriors and diplomats will bring victory,” Poroshenko said.

He said that Germany is willing to continue providing medical treatment to wounded Ukrainian soldiers.

“The hospital currently heals five Ukrainians wounded in Donbas. Ukrainian servicemen undergo treatment in Berlin at the cost of the Federal Government [of Germany] due to the agreement between the Ukrainian President and the Government of Germany,” the president’s press service reported.

The presidential administration reiterated that since the beginning of March 2014, Germany has organized four bouts of treatment and rehabilitation for 69 Ukrainian citizens. At present, Germany is treating 13 Ukrainian compatriots.
