The relations between Ukraine's President Viktor Yanukovych and the West will be permanently harmed if he decides to solve the crisis in his country in a violent way, Czech Foreign Minister Lubomir Zaoralek said after meeting U.S. high official Victoria Nuland on Feb. 5.

The West should “point to Yanukovych that if he chooses violent paths
it may have permanent impact on his relations to the West,” Zaoralek
told CTK and Czech Television.

He said the situation in Ukraine is very difficult as the country’s economy is in a bad state.
