There is a real problem with value-added tax (VAT) refunds in Ukraine, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has said.
“I admit that there are problems with VAT refunds. But this is,
among other things, due to the aftermath of the economic crisis and the
fact that some Ukrainian enterprises are unable to pay profit tax,” she
said at a Lviv international economic forum in Truskavets in Lviv
region on Friday.
However, she said, VAT refunding is not in the direct competence of
the Ukrainian prime minister, but is in the sphere of activity of the
State Tax Administration.
