President Victor Yushchenko regards Libya as a prospective partner for Ukraine, the presidential press service informed.

“I want for one more time assure that Ukraine treats Libya as an important and prospective partner,” the press service conveys the text of Yushchenko’s congratulation addressed to Libya’s leader Muammar al-Gaddafi on occasion of the Muslim holiday Kurban Bayram.

He wished Colonel Gaddafi strong health and success in his state service, and his people peace, concordance and prosperity.

Kurban Bayram is a Muslim holiday celebrating the end of hajj on the tenth day of the twelfth month of the Muslim lunar calendar in the memory of the immolation of Abraham the prophet and seventy days after the Ramadan holiday.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Muammar al-Gaddafi paid an official visit to Ukraine on Nov 4-6.
