An unprecedented attack on the National Bank of Ukraine and the president, "which was obviously organized in one center," has the goal of distracting public attention from problems with the failure to keep promises made, replenish the budget, and from a sharp worsening of the living standards of citizens, the presidential press service has reported.
“In order to implement this order, ‘famous’ experts on the banking
market – [Our Ukraine – People’s Self-Defense faction leader Mykola]
Martynenko, [Bloc of Lytvyn faction leader Ihor] Sharov, and [Interior
Minister Yuriy] Lutsenko – are merely loudly shouting ‘catch the
villain.’ They explain the absence of concrete facts that would confirm
the accusations made against experts from the presidential secretariat
and the National Bank by saying that these [experts] are
‘untouchable,'” the press service said.
