Ukraine's prosecutor's office confirmed on Oct. 20 that the driver of a car involved in a hit-and-run accident killing three people belongs to the son of the chief prosecutor of the city's Oktyabrsky district.
"The driver of the car was indeed the son of the head of the prosecutor of Oktryarsky district," news agencies quoted spokesman Yuri Boychenko as saying.
Three people died after a jeep at 6:40 a.m. plowed into three women at a crossing point on Naberezhnaya Pobeda St. The driver of the car fled the scene.
Two of the victims died on the spot, while the third woman expired later at the hospital.
