Moscow - Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law "On the Denouncement of the Agreements Regarding the Deployment of the Russian Black Sea Fleet on the Ukrainian Territory," the Kremlin press service said on Wednesday.
The law was passed by the State Duma on March 31, 2014, and approved by the Federation Council on April 1.
The document repeals the Russian-Ukrainian agreement on parameters of
the Black Sea Fleet division, which was signed in Kyiv on May 28, 1997,
the agreement on the status and terms of the deployment of the Russian
Black Sea Fleet in Ukraine signed in Kyiv on May 28, 1997, and the
Russian-Ukrainian intergovernmental agreement on mutual settlements
connected to the Black Sea Fleet division and the deployment of the
Russian Black Sea Fleet in Ukraine signed in Kyiv on May 28, 1997.
In addition, the law repeals the Moscow-Kyiv agreement on the
deployment of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Ukraine, which was signed
in Kharkiv on April 21, 2010.
The law takes effect on the day of its official publishing.
