The United State has called on the Ukrainian authorities to continue the fight against corruption, U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt said.

Speaking at the International Anti-Corruption Conference in Kyiv on Monday, Pyatt said that Ukraine’s civil society and politicians should not give up and must carry on what they’ve been doing and what they’ve already sacrificed to create the rule of law in Ukraine.

The U.S. supports the creation of new anti-corruption agencies in Ukraine, he added.

“In the new Ukraine, those in society who seek to expose corruption – the greatest threat to Ukraine – should be heralded, not intimidated,” he later tweeted.
