The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has decided to create an Ad Hoc Investigative Commission to investigate the circumstances of the conflict in Zakarpattia Oblast.

A total of 287 MPs voted in favor of the initiative.

The commission is to be headed by Petro Poroshenko Bloc MP Mykola Palamarchuk. The parliamentary factions and groups have delegated their representatives to the commission.

As reported, a shootout between individuals linked to Ukrainian parliamentarian Mykhailo Lanio, local police officers, and Right Sector members, who later refused to lay down their weapons and barricaded themselves in a dacha settlement near Mukacheve, occurred in Mukacheve on July 11.

On Monday morning, senior Security Service of Ukraine official Vasyl Hrytsak told Censor.NET that his service will guarantee a fair investigation if all Right Sector members involved in the Mukacheve incident lay down their weapons and begin cooperating with the authorities.
