The Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) of Ukraine has extended state guarantees to the UkrAvtoDor state service of motor roads in the amount of Hr 37 billion, reads the 2009 national budget law published in the Uriadovyi Kurier government newspaper on December 30.

The guarantees were provided on UkrAvtoDor commitments involving construction of subways, implementation of investment projects, as well as taking of measures involving preparations for holding the European Football Championship in Ukraine in 2012. As Ukrainian News reported, the current wording of the 2008 state budget law provides for the possibility of the government’s extension in 2008 of guarantees on the commitments of UkrAvtoDor worthHr 0.8 billion. The draft budget for 2009, which was tabled in parliament on September 15, proposed the guarantees ofHr 24.5 billion. |
