The reconstruction of the Donetsk railway station has been completed, the press service of Donetsk Railways has said.
The new Donetsk station will be able to serve more than 35,000 passengers per day and accept South Korean Hyundai and Czech Skoda modern high-speed trains, which will run between Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Mariupol, and Luhansk.
The South Korean trains will run on the Kyiv-Donetsk route, and the Czech trains will carry passengers on the Kharkiv-Donetsk-Luhansk-Donetsk-Dnipropetrovsk-Kharkiv route and the Kharkiv-Dnipropetrovsk-Donetsk-Mariupol-Donetsk-Kharkiv routes.
The station complex includes transit and commuter train stations designed for 150 and 400 passengers respectively, large and small transitions above the track, two shopping complexes, a bus stop, as well as the main reconstructed building of the station. The total capacity of the station will increase from 700 to 2,250 seats.
