Nine parties have won seats on Mykolaiv City Council.

An Interfax-Ukraine reporter said that this had been announced at a meeting of the Mykolaiv election commission after the official count of the Oct. 31 voting.

According to election returns, seats on Mykolaiv City Council were distributed between the Regions Party (35.5%), the Communist Party of Ukraine (8.7%), the Third Force (7.5%), the Batkivschyna Party (7%), the Front for Change Party (6.5%), the Strong Ukraine Party (3.7%), and the Green Party of Ukraine (3.2%).

Thus, the Regions Party won 22 seats under the proportional system, the Communist Party six, the Third Force five, Batkivschyna four, Front for Change four, Strong Ukraine two, and the Green Party two.

Of the 45 deputies elected in single-mandate constituencies, the city council include 38 Regions Party representatives, two from the Strong Ukraine, two from the Front for Change, one from the Justice Party, one from the Native Motherland Union, and one from the Green Party of Ukraine.

Thus, the Regions Party with 60 seats can form a majority in Mykolaiv City Council.
