One person died and three others were injured in a coal mine methane blast in east Ukraine, the regional industrial safety watchdog said Sunday. The accident occurred late on Saturday. The mine was in the process of restructuring and one of the companies had won a tender to dismantle its equipment. "Four persons from that organization entered without permission the mine where a small blast occurred," the watchdog said. Ukrainian mines are considered extremely dangerous due to obsolete equipment.
