The Russian community of Crimea has declared that it is ready to support Regions Party leader Viktor Yanukovych at the future presidential elections.
The Russian community of Crimea said that Yanukovych as president
“would effectively represent and fight for democratic values in the
development of modern Ukraine.”
At the same time, the Russian society of Crimea asked the Regions
Party leader to take all the necessary measures to normalize the social
and political situation in Crimea “the destabilization of which was
caused by actions of Anatoliy Hrytsenko at the post of Crimean Supreme
Council Chairman.”
According to reports in the Crimean mass media, the statement of the
Russian community in Crimea was made after Serhiy Tsekov, the chairman
of the Russian Community of Crimea and first vice speaker of the
Crimean parliament, met with Yanukovych during his visit to Crimea on
Saturday.
