Education and Science Minister Ivan Vakarchuk has said that school leavers in 2009-2010 will undergo external independent testing after the final state examination.
“The main novelty of the next year is that the external independent
testing will be held after children receive a school leaving
certificate [which is presented with the results of the state knowledge
assessment tests],” Vakarchuk said at a press conference in Kyiv on
Tuesday.
As reported, in 2010, external independent testing will be held in
the following subjects: Ukrainian language and literature, history of
Ukraine, mathematics, biology, physics, chemistry, geography, and one
foreign language (of the pupil’s choice) in either English, German,
French, or Spanish. The results of the testing will have the same
status as entrance examinations to institutions of higher education.
