The Socialist Party of Ukraine (SPU) is considering the possibility of uniting leftist and center-left political forces not only to support a single candidate for the post of Ukraine's president, but also to participate as one bloc in elections to local government agencies, SPU member Semeniuk-Samsonenko has said.

“We’d like to consider this issue not only in the context of
supporting a single presidential candidate. We’re more interested in a
scheme that should be implemented if our president rises to power, and
in our participation as one bloc in elections to local government
agencies,” she said at a press conference in Kyiv on Wednesday.

She said that the SPU was already working in this direction, as
talks had already been held with those who would form a leftist bloc.
