Chief of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Col Gen Serhiy Kyrychenko has resigned, an informed source from the Defense Ministry told Interfax-Ukraine.
According to the source, Kyrychenko announced his resignation at the ministry’s meeting on Monday morning.
His deputy Hennadiy Vorobyov will be temporary acting as Ukraine’s chief of defense.
Kyrychenko said health problems were behind his resignation.
