Ukraine's opposition leader Victor Yanukovych claimed a slender win in a presidential election, but bitter rival Yulia Tymoshenko refused to concede.
Tymoshenko denied Yanukovich victory in a 2004 rigged election through mass protests that she led. Her supporters are challenging the result of this year’s Feb. 7 second round run-off in local courts.
The following are the results issued by the Central Election Commission after counting all the votes. The commission must formally confirm these results by Feb. 17.
Yanukovych 48.95 12,481,268
Tymoshenko 45.47 11,593,340
Against all 4.36 1,111,517
Spoilt ballots 1.19 303,372
Vote counted 100.00 25,493,503
Turnout 69.14
