Paul Manafort, the chairman of Donald Trump's presidential campaign, was at the centre of another controversy after it was claimed he helped a pro-Russian Ukrainian political party secretly move $2.2 million to two major Washington lobbying firms.

According to an investigation by the Associated Press the transfers were set up using a non-profit organisation to obscure the Ukrainian party’s attempts to influence US policies.
