Sergiy Tigipko, a well-known Ukrainian banker who has declared his intention to run for president, has said he is ready to cooperate with Ukrainian Premier Yulia Tymoshenko if she wins presidential elections.
He said this at a meeting with entrepreneurs in Brovary (Kyiv region) on Monday.
“I am ready to cooperate with Tymoshenko. But, first of all, I will never dismiss any prospects for myself,” he said
According to Tigipko, he is intending again to become the head of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) and work in government.
“If I am told tomorrow: go and work as the NBU head, I won’t go. I
know what to do, with whom, but in this case I will need to leave my
party, and I can’t do this now,” Tigipko said.
Tigipko also noted that he had he worked as the head of the National
Bank of Ukraine during the term of office of Ukrainian President Viktor
Yuschenko.
