"Gambling has become an epidemic that can be compared with AIDS and tuberculosis," says the law's author, Valeriy Pysarenko, a parliamentary deputy from Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko's party. "It is destroying the Ukrainian nation on a moral level."
