A separate version of TV channel RTR-Planeta broadcast via the W4 satellite has been created specially for Ukrainian TV viewers, the press service of the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council has reported on Monday.
At the end of September the council received a relevant letter from
the All-Russian State Television and Radio Company (VGTRK) that
specified this and other measures taken to return TV channel
RTR-Planeta to the Ukrainian cable television network.
VGTRK Company assured the Ukrainian side that the Ukrainian version
of RTR-Planeta doesn’t contain advertisements or advertising segments,
and thus there is no advertising of alcohol. But if advertising
appears, then the leadership of the television company would follow the
corresponding laws of Ukraine.
Moreover, VGTRK Company is obliged to fulfill all of the directions
of the Ukrainian Television and Radio Broadcasting Council concerning
the broadcasting on days of mourning and on the day of memory for
famine victims.
As reported, from November 1 the Ukrainian Television and Radio
Broadcasting Council demanded that cable operators to remove Russian TV
channels not adapted to the Ukrainian legislation from their
broadcasting lists. The decision affected, in particular, RTR-Planeta,
Channel One Global Network and TV Center.
The broadcasting of the Russian Channel One was resumed as the TV
Company declared its intention to legalize its activity on the
territory of Ukraine.
