Explosives experts from Ukraine's Emergency Situations Ministry have found two 500-kilogram German aerial bombs dating back to World War II in the sea near Foros village's beach on Crimea's southern coast.

“The deadly surprise was lying at a depth of three meters,
half-submerged in the sand. Rescuers found its identical “twin” nearly
half a meter from the first bomb,” the Crimean branch of the Ukrainian
Emergency Situations Ministry said.

Deep-sea divers discovered the bombs 30 meters from the coastline
near a health resort’s beach. Specialists have identified them as
WWII-era SC-500 German aerial bombs.

Explosives experts decided to destroy the bombs at the scene, said
Oleksandr Kalyakin, a specialist from the Emergency Situations
Ministry’s special operations rescue unit.

Three WWII-era mines were found on the same beach this summer, he said.
