The Ukrainian cabinet and the leadership of Kyiv City State Administration have agreed on the returning to the utility service tariffs that were in effect earlier in Kyiv from November 1, 2009, Ukrainian Premier Yulia Tymoshenko said at a briefing on Tuesday.

“We’ve reached understanding with Kyiv’s leadership, and a joint
decision to return to the old tariffs from November 1, 2009 was made,”
she said.

Tymoshenko said that the arguments the cabinet used in talks with
the administration included court rulings on the unlawfulness of the
increase of utility service tariffs and a cabinet resolution on the
cancellation of the increased tariffs.

She said that Ukraine is a legal state, and court rulings must be always implemented.

The premier said that Kyiv residents would receive payment bills with old tariffs after November 1, 2009.
