Following the victory of the Ukrainian national football team over England in the FIFA World Cup 2010 Qualifying Round in Dnipropetrovsk on October 10, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has said she is confident of Ukraine’s participation in the World Cup in the Republic of South Africa in summer 2010.

Ukrainian News learned this from her letter of congratulations to the Ukrainian national team.

“Keep it up, follows! There are other important matches ahead of you, but I do know this – you will go to the World Cup in the Republic of South Africa without a fail. I am saying again – good for you!” the letter reads.

Yulia Tymoshenko specially praised Serhii Nazarenko, whose strike brought the victory to the Ukrainian team in Dnipropetrovsk where he plays his domestic football.

The Ukrainian prime minister said all members of the team have shown that Ukraine is capable of winning one of the strongest teams of the world.

“Your performance was brilliant both in guarding your goal and in persistent attacks on the menacing opponent,” Tymoshenko’s letter of congratulations reads.

The prime minister also praised the unbelievable support from nearly 30,000 fans on the stadium and millions of fans watching the match on TV.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Ukrainian football national team won a 1-0 victory over England in Dnipropetrovsk on October 10.
