Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko has said that the presidential elections in the country will consist of two rounds, and then added that she is ready to consolidate all of the political forces if she wins the elections.
“I’m sure that there will be two rounds, and they will produce a
[properly] elected president. I am sure of my victory,” the premier
said in her speech on Friday at he sixth annual summit of the Yalta
European Strategy (YES).
At the same time she said that she would be ready to consolidate all political forces.
“I consider my political force as a uniting [force] for Ukraine and
a uniting [force] for the elites after the elections. [This would be] a
union around political values, around reforms,” the head of the
government said.
The prime minister is the head of the Batkivschyna party, which forms the basis of the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko.
The presidential elections in Ukraine are scheduled for January 17, 2010.
