Kyiv, October 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) - The government of Ukraine will mull the possibility of giving comprehensive school directors the status of state officials, Ukrainian Premier Yulia Tymoshenko has reported.
“It seems to me very logical to give comprehensive school directors the status of state officials. We need to test this to see how it influences state finance,” Tymoshenko said at an extraordinary meeting of the government on the issues of education in Kyiv on Monday.
Tymoshenko said the government is intending to raise teacher wages on average by 32.5%.
There are 20,145 school directors in Ukraine.
