The Ukrainian government is oriented to the average forex rate in 2010 set at Hr 7.5 per U.S. dollar, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said at a special cabinet meeting on Saturday.

In her words, there are no economic grounds currently for the rate to be as high as today.

Recently, the forex rate of the hryvnia against the
U.S. dollar at some currency exchange booths sometimes exceeded UAH 9
per U.S. dollar.

The official forex rate set by the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) as of September 14, 2009, is UAH 7.9944 per U.S. dollars.
