Ukraine's Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko and German Chancellor Angela Merkel have discussed the situation with Russian gas transit to the European Union countries and its possible solutions, the Ukrainian government's press service reported on Thursday.

“Tymoshenko spoke of Ukraine’s latest proposals regarding the row settlement, particularly, on draft technical agreement sent to Russian and European partners, the phone conversation with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and agreement to hold gas talks in Moscow on Saturday,” the press service said.

The German chancellor told the Ukrainian PM that she intends to discuss these issues during her meeting with the Russian premier in Berlin on Friday.
