Ukrainian Premier Yulia Tymoshenko has supported the idea of creating a permanent representative of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Kyiv.
Tymoshenko said this while meeting with a mission of the Ecumenical
Patriarchate consisting of His Eminence Metropolitan Emmanuel
(Adamakis) of Gaul, Chief Secretary of the Holy and Sacred Synod
Archmandrite Elpidophoros Lambriniadis, and priest Vasilius
Papathanasius, the government’s press service reported.
Tymoshenko believes that such an initiative will be supported by all
of the church confessions in Ukraine, all of the power branches, and
the representatives of all political forces. She said that the
consolidation of the Orthodoxy would become an epochal event for
Ukraine.
