Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko has said she is surprised that prices for metal products for domestic engineering enterprises in the coal sector are higher than the prices charged on foreign markets.
“It is strange that metal products are sold to our engineering enterprises at prices higher than those charged before the crisis, and the interesting point is that the prices are 4-5% higher than the prices on the foreign markets. And then we see prices for mining equipment 37-48% higher than they would be [in other sectors],” Tymoshenko said in Kyiv on Thursday at a meeting dedicated to the mining industry.
At the same time, according to the premier, such a situation is unacceptable for the industry.
“I must say that such things should never happen,” Tymoshenko said.
