Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has thanked Shakhtar Donetsk players for selflessness and courage they showed during UEFA Super Cup match against Barcelona in Monaco on Friday.
“Of course, I was rooting for Shakhtar. Because this is our
Ukrainian team. And first of all I would like to thank the guys for
their selflessness and courage, for the beautiful show. For the fact
that yesterday they united the country. For the fact that at least for
two hours people forgot about TV series, politics and politicians,
elections and crisis. Everybody was united by the football,” Tymoshenko
told reporters while commenting on the Super Cup match.
Barcelona beat Shakhtar in the Super Cup on Friday, 1-0 in extra time.
