Ukraine has put off the introduction of new rules for entering Ukraine for citizens of 85 states, Ukraine's Envoy on Transdniestrian Settlement Viktor Kryzhanivsky has said.

According to the new rules, the residents of 85 states should present cash or checks to the sum of EUR 1,000.

“This decision was prompted by the agreement signed by Ukraine and the European Union,” Kryzhanivsky said.

“In any case it won’t affect the residents of border regions,
students and citizens coming to Ukraine for a short-term stay, for
instance to rest,” the Ukrainian diplomat stressed.

Kryzhanivsky met with Transdniestrian Foreign Minister Vladimir Yastrebchak in Tiraspol.

Moldova is on the list of the states falling under the new regulation.
