The space agencies and the National Academies of Sciences of Ukraine and Russia are discussing current issues in cooperation in the space sector as part of the 9th Ukrainian conference on space exploration, which is being held in Yevpatoria (Crimea).
During their joint meeting, representatives of the National Space Agency of Ukraine (NSAU), Russia’s Federal Space Agency, the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences and the Russian Academy of Sciences discussed the implementation of the program on Ukrainian-Russian cooperation in the exploration and use of space in 2007-2011 and a long-term bilateral program of scientific investigations and experiments in the Russian segment of the International Space Station (ISS), the NSAU reported.
The partners analyzed the state of cooperation in the sphere of satellite navigation and the creation of GPS differential corrections to Russia’s GLONASS system, the sector of Earth remote sensing, and also discussed the development of cooperation between the space enterprises of Ukraine and Russia.
The conference will last until September 5.
