Ukrainian metal producers will take part in a tender for the construction of a new safe Shelter confinement facility over Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant's destroyed fourth reactor.

Ukrainian Emergencies Minister Volodymyr Shandra said this at a press conference on Monday.

The Emergencies Ministry has been insisting on putting Ukrainian enterprises onto the bidders list, Shandra said.

He added that Ukraine’s leading producers have been admitted to the tender.

“The tender will be worth around UAH 120 million, and we will be
working at involving Ukrainian producers into the implementation of a
project for the construction of a new safe confinement,” the minister
said.
