Kyiv, Dec. 1 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Ukraine will not get the NATO Membership Action Plan (MAP) at the December meting of NATO foreign ministers, head of the Ukrainian presidential secretariat Viktor Baloha said.

“This issue [of providing Ukraine with the NATO MAP in December] was removed from the agenda,” Baloha said in an interview with the ICTV channel on Sunday evening.

Speaking about why this decision will not be made, he said: “We all understand that the MAP will not be given to Ukraine, because there is no consensus of the leading actors.”

Baloha, however, expressed certainty that the issue of Ukraine’s entry to NATO will be resolved in favor of Ukraine in the near future.

He also noted that Ukraine has many other topical challenges “which need to be resolved in order to make public united.”
